NO COST TO THE CHURCH

Food Truck Vendor
For Church Events
Sydney

The Food Hub is a food truck vendor for church events across Sydney. For large fetes, fairs, festivals and family days, we come at no cost to the church. Your community buys their own food and drinks on the day, like at a market. The minimum is 500 guests per truck, and the church gets no catering bill.

How it works

Free to your church. Simple to run.

The idea is easy. Your church puts on a big event, and we roll a food truck in as your food vendor. There is no bill for the church. Your community buys their own food and drinks at the truck across the day, just like they would at a market or a fete, and that is what makes it work with nothing to pay. All we need is enough of a crowd.

1. You host

A fete, fair, festival or family day with 500 or more people expected. You tell us the date, the place and your numbers.

2. We roll in

We bring the truck, the staff, our own power and water, and we set up and pack down ourselves. One truck up to around 600, a second truck when you are up near a thousand.

3. Your crowd buys

People buy their own food and drinks at the truck on the day. The church pays nothing, we give a donation back from the day, and your volunteers do not have to run the food service.

The right fit

Made for your biggest days.

This suits the church events that pull a real crowd. The kind of day where a food truck adds to the buzz and saves your volunteers from running a sausage sizzle for six hours straight.

Church fetes & spring fairs

The classic big day on the church calendar. A food truck fits right in among the stalls and rides, and the crowd is already there to buy.

Festivals & big carols nights

Community festivals, cultural days and the big Christmas carols that draw hundreds from across the neighbourhood.

Community family days

Open days, outreach days and neighbourhood invites where the food keeps people around and chatting a while longer.

Carnivals & fundraisers

A church carnival or a big fundraiser where you want a food vendor there without it eating into what you raise.

Who does what

You give us the spot. We bring the rest.

All we need from the church is a flat, safe spot with room for the truck, and your own car park is perfect. A church car park is private property, so setup is usually straightforward. We bring our own power and water, so we are not tied to your hall or your kitchen, and our crew handles the setup and the pack down. We choose the truck or trucks and the menu to suit your crowd, built around the favourites a big, mixed church crowd goes for.

Everything on our snack pack truck is all halal, and we carry vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options across the fleet, so the whole community is looked after. If your event is on public land like a park or reserve rather than church grounds, that needs council approval first, and because our trucks are council approved with many NSW councils we help you sort the paperwork rather than leave it with you.

Why it is safe hands

Big crowds are what we do.

Feeding a large crowd fast, off a truck, with a queue that keeps moving, is exactly our world. We have vended at more than 1,500 events, from community festivals and council family days to major public events like Vivid, the Formula 1 and Laneway, and we return year on year as a vendor at big showground events. We have brought our trucks to churches too, including St Charbel's Monastery in Punchbowl. A church fete or a carols night for hundreds is right in that wheelhouse: a lot of people, all ages and backgrounds, everyone hungry at once, served quickly and looked after.

You also get proper cover as standard: $20M public liability, a Working With Children Check through Service NSW, and trucks that are council approved with many NSW councils. See how we handled a big, hungry public crowd at the Meatstock showground festival, or work out numbers first with our guide to how many guests a food truck can feed.

Under 500 guests?

Expecting just under 500? It can still be worth a conversation, since a lot comes down to expected turnout and how many people are likely to buy on the day. Otherwise our paid catering option is the better fit: the church covers the food from $18 per head, all inclusive, minimum 60 guests, and everyone eats without paying at the truck.

FAQ

The free vendor deal, answered.

Do you really come to church events for free?

Yes, with one condition. For larger church events we come as a food truck vendor at no cost to the church. There is no hire fee and no catering bill. Instead of the church paying, your community buys their own food from the truck on the day, the same as they would at a market or a fete. It works when the crowd is big enough, so we ask for a minimum of 500 guests per truck.

How many people do we need for this to work?

A minimum of 500 guests per truck. One truck comfortably looks after around 500 to 600 people across an event. If you expect around a thousand people, we bring a second truck. Tell us your expected numbers and we will work out how many trucks suit the day.

What does it cost the church?

Nothing. There is no hire fee, no booking fee and no catering invoice for the church. We cover the truck, the staff, the setup and the pack down. Your community buys their own food and drinks at the truck on the day, which is how the vendor model works with no charge to the church. On top of that, we give a donation back to the church from the day.

What if our church event is smaller than 500 guests?

Around 500 guests per truck is what makes the free vendor model work. If your event is a bit smaller, it can still be worth a conversation, because a lot comes down to how many people will be there and buying on the day. If the numbers do not quite stack up, our paid church event catering is the better fit: from $18 per head, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests, so the church covers the food and everyone eats without paying at the truck. Tell us your numbers and we will point you to the right option.

What does the church need to provide?

A flat, safe spot with room for the truck, usually your car park, which is private property and easy to set up on. That is about it. We bring our own power and water, our own staff, and we set up and pack down ourselves. If your event is on public land like a park or reserve, that needs council approval first, and because our trucks are council approved with many NSW councils we help you sort it.

Are you insured and checked for a public church crowd?

Yes. We carry $20M public liability insurance with a certificate of currency on request, we hold a Working With Children Check through Service NSW, which matters at any church event with children around, and our trucks are council approved with many NSW councils. Send us what your church board or venue needs and we will get the paperwork across before the day.

Which trucks and what food do we get?

We choose the truck or trucks and the menu to suit your crowd and your event, built around proven favourites a big, mixed church crowd will love. Everything on our snack pack truck is all halal. We are not formally halal certified, and we are upfront about that. We also carry vegetarian and vegan choices, and our snack packs are gluten free with gluten free wraps on request, though our trucks handle gluten so we cannot guarantee zero cross contact.

How do we lock in a date?

Just enquire with your event date, the place and your expected numbers. Popular church dates, including spring fetes, Christmas festivals and end of year fairs, fill early, so the sooner you tell us the better. We will confirm the date, sort the trucks, and have the insurance and Working With Children Check details ready whenever your church board asks.
